What is the difference between the PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500, or V-700) and Vitasalus' previous older whole house systems?
Vitasalus no longer manufactures or sells the previous Equinox Premium whole house water filtration system. This previous whole house water filtration system utilized two (2) blue tanks in a vertical stacked configuration. The PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500, or V-700) systems easily replaces the older whole house water filtration systems previously sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products, including 3 yr./300,000 gal. or 5 yr./400,000 gal. Equinox Premium whole house water filtration systems. The higher-capacity PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500 and V-700) systems are available Factory Direct through Vitasalus/Equinox Products and were developed in a continued effort to keep up with the increased water contaminants, latest water filtration technology, and media advancements. Ultimately, our goal at Nu-Gen Nutrition is to provide the highest quality system on the market at the most affordable price. Because Vitasalus has incorporated more high grade water filtration media along with advanced media layering techniques to the PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500, or V-700), they are designed to address even more contaminants and perform for approx.: 300,000 gallons or 3–5 years for the V-300; 500,000 gallons or 5–7 years for the V-500; and 700,000 gallons or 7–10 years for the V-700. The older systems sold by Vitasalus/Equinox Products were only designed to perform for either 300,000 gallons/3 years or 400,000 gallons/5 years. Please refer to the PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500 and V-700) Specifications Chart for more detailed information.

How does the PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 Premium Whole House Water Filtration System work?
See PureMaster V-Series: How It Works for a graphic and complete information.

How long do the PureMaster V-Series (V-300, V-500, or V-700) Whole House Systems last?
The V-300 is designed to perform for 300,000 gallons or about 3–5 years. The V-500 is designed to perform for 500,000 gallons or about 5–7 years. The V-700 is designed to perform for 700,000 gallons or about 7–10 years. The saturation of the media by contaminants may occur faster in different areas depending upon the condition of the water and the actual amount of water run through the filter on a daily basis. Generally, it is recommended that the unit be replaced when there is a noticeable return of off-tastes or odors and/or noticeable drop in water pressure (assuming a reasonably clean 0.35-micron prefilter is currently in use).

How do I replace my existing PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system after it is used up?
Some companies in the marketplace burden the consumer with the difficult, time-consuming and potentially costly task of empting the old, dirty media from the used-up system tank, sanitizing the system tank for health-concerns and pouring in new media. Ultimately, we save you health and plumbing risks, time, hassle and money by offering you a completely new Ready-To-Install replacement system. The PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system easily replaces any older V-300, V-500, or V-700 systems. It is a simple matter of swapping out the old PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system "blue tank unit" with the new, Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with advanced, special layered media) PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 replacement system "blue tank unit". The PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 replacement system can be installed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience to ensure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty. The typical PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system replacement time is about 1 hour and costs approximately $75 to $150 (NOTE: Actual cost ultimately depends upon your local plumbing rates and fees).

How much maintenance is required for my PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system?
Typically, the only maintenance required for the PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system is 0.35-micron prefilter replacement. The PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system is designed to be virtually maintenance free for the life of the system.

How often should I change the .35-micron prefilter on my PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system?
Approximately every 6 to 8 months, depending upon the actual amount of sediment or particulate matter present in your water supply. Because the 0.35-micron prefilter (white in color when first installed) is in a clear screw-on prefilter canister, it can easily be visually checked for dirtiness or build-up of sediment or particulate matter. Typically, when a 0.35-micron prefilter is extremely dirty, there will be a noticeable drop in water pressure through the PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system since the water is no longer able to properly flow through the 0.35-micron prefilter.

How much space does the complete PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 installation typically require?
The PureMaster V-300 requires minimal installation space, an area approximately 48” high x 36” wide x 10” deep.
The V-300 tank size is 8" diameter x 44" height (9.5" at black base/stand).
The PureMaster V-500 requires minimal installation space, an area approximately 48” high x 36” wide x 12” deep.
The V-500 tank size is 10" diameter x 44" height (11.5" at black base/stand).
The PureMaster V-700 requires minimal installation space, an area approximately 60” high x 36” wide x 12” deep.
The V-700 tank size is 10" diameter x 54" height (11.5" at black base/stand).

Where should the complete PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system be installed?
The PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system is a Point-of-Entry (POE) system, or whole-house/whole home system, and is usually installed, just after the water meter, in your basement, garage, or water heater closet. NOTE: The water meter is usually located in the basement of the house. In warm weather climates, the water meter may be in the garage or outside of the house. If the PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system is installed outdoors in warm weather climates, it should be adequately shaded to prevent excessive sunlight/heat exposure.

How difficult is it to install the complete PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system?
The PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system will be shipped Pre-Assembled (tanks come pre-loaded with special media) and Ready-To-Install which greatly simplifies the installation process and significantly reduces installation time and cost. The installation of the PureMaster V-300, V-500, or V-700 system, using the included installation instructions, is simple and straight-forward and system can be performed by the home-owner or anyone with very basic plumbing experience to ensure proper installation necessary to validate the system warranty.
